Becoming Effective with the levelgrinding.com Core Process
The levelgrinding.com core process for becoming effective consists of four steps which must be applied consistently both on a daily basis and at periodic intervals in a more strategic manner. These four steps may require a bit of learning to really grasp their full implications, and will definitely take some practice to develop the skills to the point where they start to feel natural and begin to become habits. Once you begin to master them though, you will find yourself automatically applying them to all aspects of your life and you will experience synergistic convergence as all aspects of your life become aligned as an effective, well functioning, and continuously improving whole.
Before looking at each of these steps in greater detail, let’s look at an example of how these steps can be used in levelgrinding and why each is critically important.
Let’s say for example, I have a goal of becoming healthier and losing a few pounds. I’ll step through the process and show how each step will apply to my goal.
Assessment: What is my goal? Get healthy; Lose weight.
What EXACTLY does that mean? I need to provide nutrients to my body by eating healthy food and get rid of excess fat. The nutrients will allow my body to function properly and I will feel healthy. Avoiding fatty foods will stop me from gaining weight but I’ll also need to do some physical activity to burn off some of the existing stored calories.
Alignment: I will need to align my Intent with my Goal, then align Actions with my Intent of making this goal a reality.
I will need to eat healthy foods and in healthy amounts. I have to Stop and Avoid eating garbage – junk food, excess carbs, fatty foods, etc. I will have to use Intent, Willpower, and Discipline to Control my eating Actions, Habits, and Cravings. I have to get off my ass and do some physical activity.
Engagement: The alignment step helped me figure out what to do... Now I must DO IT! It is generally a good idea to set some kind of time constraints on this, for example; I will do all of my Alignment actions for thirty days.
Continuous Improvement: After the thirty day period...
How did it go?
Did I meet my goals? – If not , why not? And what will I do about it?
How did it make me feel?
Do I want to continue the actions I have used to maintain the results?
Now here’s an interesting twist - we turn the process in on itself:
Assess the process – In my analysis, alignment and engagement process; would I do anything differently next time? Did I learn anything about the process itself?
Did the process reveal anything about myself?
How are my analysis skills?
Was my analysis reasonable?
How did it feel to begin consciously using Intent?
Did I really get it?
Did it make a big difference in Engagement?
How well did my goal align with other parts of my life?
Did it align with any core values?
Did it reveal any values?
Do these values suggest need alignment in other areas?
Now turn the process onto another target and keep improving in other areas...
In this case we saw how the levelgrinding.com core process can help us achieve a specific goal. Later on, we’ll discover how to apply this exact same process to the various aspects of our life or "channels" as we like to call them. You’ll be amazed at how dramatically your life will change when we get into this part.
OK so let’s look at the steps in greater detail:
